Sheffield Precision Medical have started the year strong, taking delivery of a new HAAS 5-axis CNC mill in January. Just two years ago, SPM had only two 5-axis mills. This delivery has boosted the number up to six!
The new machine has been commissioned and is now milling complex geometries to the tight tolerances involved with the manufacture of medical components. It sits next to the dedicated New Product Introduction (NPI) 5-axis mill, further enhancing the capacity of SPM’s milling section.
Alongside the new mill, there have been additions to the workforce in the milling department as SPM prepares for the future. Two new starters and an apprentice ensure that SPM can efficiently run two shifts to continue working through the order book.
